About Julia Tanner

I recently graduated with a Master of Engineering degree from University of California, Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Biomechanics. I am passionate about working in the medical field because I believe healthcare innovation can save and improve lives. When I was eight years old, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Using medical devices and working with healthcare workers as a patient has taught me while medical innovations can be amazing, there is always room for improvement. Communication between patients, healthcare providers, and engineers is crucial to developing human centered designed medical devices effectively. I plan to use my education and experiences to help advance medical innovations.
